Blake Eastman is the founder of The Nonverbal Group, a New York City–based behavioral research and education company he launched in 2009 to study and improve human communication through large-scale behavioral analysis. With a background in forensic psychology, he spent six years as an adjunct professor at the City University of New York, teaching General Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Group Dynamics.

A former professional poker player, Blake founded School of Cards, the first brick-and-mortar poker school in the United States, and created Beyond Tells, the largest behavioral study ever conducted on poker players. His research involved thousands of hours of recorded play, analyzing micro-expressions, posture shifts, and other subtle cues that influence decision-making under pressure. Today, he works with executives, military units, and law enforcement agencies to sharpen their ability to read situations, anticipate moves, and communicate with precision.

In poker and in business, the best players don’t just look at the cards. They read the table. Blake’s work is about knowing what’s really in play, even when nothing is being said. That makes him a perfect fit for this year’s Worthshop theme, GROUND.
